Polyurethane Paint.

Polyurethane paint is a highly utilized product in the industrial sector due to its multiple applications and its great impact resistance and flexibility, making it perfect for use in industrial environments.

Polyurethane is a polymer resulting from the mixture of polyol and isocyanate, which is used in a wide variety of industrial processes. Nowadays, it has diverse applications and can be found in multiple paints. For instance, it is used for the manufacture of high-performance paints such as those used in automobiles or even in constructions thanks to its resistance to weather factors.

.

There are different types of polyurethane paint, each with its own application recommendation that adapts to different project sizes and expected use. Polyurethane is a plastic-based resin that is used to manufacture countless objects. It can be found in resistant furniture, such as that used outdoors, and even in toys for children. Its formulation allows it to be rigid or liquid, as it is used to develop paints and varnishes.

.

Its main differential point compared to other types of paints is that it presents greater flexibility and high resistance to chemical attacks and physical wear. It also allows for a finish without porosity, achieving optimal insulation.

.

Polyurethane paint can have various finishes, including satin, semi-gloss, and even very glossy. It has a wide range of applications, making it suitable for use on plastic, fiberglass, metal, fabrics, wood, and more. One disadvantage of this paint is that, due to its high percentage of solid contents, it dries slowly. For this reason, it will form a thick and durable film, but not immediately.

.

Types of polyurethane paint include:

.

Acrylic polyurethane: used in a wide variety of formats, from water towers to vehicles. It is usually chosen when surfaces have limited friction and there is a possibility of abrasion. It can be applied with a brush, gun, or spray, achieving different finishes.

.

Polyester polyurethane: offers excellent protection against chemicals, abrasion, and stains. It is used in boats or airplanes and also gives rise to very different finishes. In addition to these types, we can find other paints with more specific compositions. These will be indicated for very specific uses and surfaces.
